Mad Scientist: On The Clock and Trading A lot
By Anthony McCree II
What up!! Are you ready for the NFL Draft?! I would hope so, it is tomorrow after all, in the sports
world there is much to keep your attention this week, especially, with the Fight of The Century being just around the corner on Saturday.
If your a huge boxing fan, hopefully, you can pry yourself away from any "who's gonna win" debates long enough to read a mock draft lol.
In this mock, I ended up in a very interesting position, because of offers from other teams, I had the opportunity to trade back and did so many times. As a result, We went into the draft with 7 picks and came out having selected 23 players.
I actually traded back so many times in the first round that I ended up without a first round pick. This is where the story begins, near the top of the second round.

Overview
I know, I know. Skins Fans being forced to suffer through a first round where all we saw was multiple trade backs, instead of players picked, I get it. But, that could good things come to those who wait, and the second round became the most vital round in terms of how the success of the draft will be viewed for years to come.
In my opinion, we landed 4 talents that could be considered first round talents. First, Cameron Erving, the drafts best center prospect who can also play tackle if needed, then, Danielle Hunter, a raw but wickedly athletic talent that will play OLB in our 3-4 defense, He may be raw, but he won't be starting, he will have time to grow as he'll be bringing loads of speed and power to our 3rd down packages. Those two picks, were followed by WR Dorial Green-Beckam and SS Landon Collins.
Green-Beckham is as talented as any receiver in this draft, and could have been the first one off the board possibly, had it not been for off the field issues. Landon Collins, Is one of the more talented safeties, he's one on many draft boards in terms of his position, but coverage issues are what ultimately forced him to the back half of the second round. I'm not worried about those issues as much within our system, because were hoping he can fit the mold of Cam Chancellor in Seattle, who has become well rounded, but does much of his work inside the box.
Listen, we drafted 23 guys, there's no way all these dudes are making the team, let's just face that right now, But I do like the depth and competition we've brought to the football team at multiple positions.
I think the secondary has gotten a much needed upgrade in overall talent and depth, as did the offensive line and front seven, I was really happy to land David Cobb in the 4th round, I think he's a solid back, with underrated shiftiness as well, some have compared him to Skins off-season target Steven Ridley who signed with the Jets.
I like all the picks for various reasons of course, what do you think? Comment, let me know your thoughts.
